GETTING INTO LAW SCHOOL

1. STUDY HARD. You will need excellent grades to get into law school.

2. SIGN UP WITH YOUR PRELAW ADVISOR to learn more about the field and how to get into law school.

3. TAKE ADVANTAGE of various summer programs for prelaw students. Participate in a legal-oriented internship.

4. GET GOOD GRADES AND LSAT SCORES. These are the two most important factors in terms of getting into law school.  

Black Law Students Association offers great networking opportunities for students interested in pursuing careers in law.

CLEO (Council on Legal Opportunity) is an entity of the American Bar Association. It helps low income and disadvantaged students go to law school. To help in this effort, CLEO sponsors a six-week summer program.

Law School Bound.net is a Web site dedicated to helping prelaw students get into law school and become lawyers. While not specially for students of color, it is a very helpful site.
